"strange sentence"
Hello,

recently, I have passed an English test to determine which level of English language school shall I attend. One of questions which I answered incorrectly was as far as I can say very "strange".

It's been gapped sentence and it's correct wording should have been (I've been told after examination): "We will have moved to the new house by the end of the week, so we won't be here on Sunday"

Does this sentence makes any sense to you?

Yes, that is fine. What makes you uncomfortable with it?

Thanks for quick answer. Could you please explain why they used
"we will have moved" instead of "we will move to the new house by the end of the next week" (which was one of four potential answers). Their wording of this sentence changes it's context completely and is very confusing. Thanks in advance

"We will have moved to the new house by the end of the week, so we won't be here on Sunday"

The future perfect tense (will have moved) is used to describe an event that has not yet happened but is expected or planned to happen before another stated occurrence (us being there on Sunday).
'By the end of the week' means before Saturday.
