Writing Paper Part 2. Task Type: Report
| Content Should include the description of three facilities that would bring enjoyment to young people. The report should give personal views on each of the facilities and their suitability for young people. The report may also include some general recommendations or suggestions. |
| Communicative achievement Formal. The tone should be fairly objective as it is being written for a committee. The members of the committee would be informed and have sufficient information to decide how the visitors are going to be entertained. |
| Organisation Should have the layout of a report, with clear sections and perhaps the use of headings if appropriate. Should state the aim of the report in the opening paragraph. |
| Language Language of description, opinion, recommendation ('The Solo bar is to be recommended in particular because...') and suggestion ("I propose that..."; "Perhaps the committee could consider..."). Should not contain major errors that lead to misunderstandings or that irritate the reader. |
